Three Suspects Arrested for Armed Home InvasionYesterday, Monday, September 7, 2009 around 2:30PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 9 Carson St. for an armed home invasion in progress.
En route, officers were provided a description and plate number of the getaway car used by the suspects and various officers responded to the scene of the incident and the surrounding area to try to find the suspect vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the female victim of the home invasion. The victim reported to officers that three black males had just forced their way into her apartment, assaulted her and threatened her and her husband with a gun. The victim elaborated by telling officers that she was coming home and was in the process of opening her door when she was confronted by two suspects one of whom stuck his foot in the doorway preventing her from closing the door. The suspect continually asked for an individual while she continued to try and close the door. During this exchange, the victim reported that a third black male appeared from the hallway, charged the door and assaulted the victim knocking her to the ground. The suspects then forcibly entered her apartment. According to the female suspect and her husband, he came out wielding a bat upon hearing the commotion to confront the suspects when one them pulled up his shirt and displayed a firearm. The male victim then ran back in the bedroom and called the police. The suspects, upon hearing the victim calling the police, fled the apartment and were observed getting in a car that the victim was able to get the registration.
Assisting officers, while other officers were speaking to the victims, stopped a car matching the suspect motor vehicle description occupied by occupants matching the suspects’ description at the in the area of 78 Adams Street. The occupants were removed from the car based on the nature of the call and the fact that a firearm had been involved. While removing the occupants from the car, officers observed what appeared to be a silver firearm in the middle console of the car. In addition, offices also observed a plastic bag containing several individual wrapped bags of marijuana and a scale from the car.
The victims were returned to the scene to see if they could identify the individuals in the car. Both victims were able to identify the three suspects that had been stopped during individual identification procedures. The suspects, Garth French, 28, of Dorchester, Jason Clarke, 27of Dorchester and Jerry A. Green, 23, of Hyde Park were all arrested and charged with Armed Home Invasion, and Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute for marijuana found in the car along with paraphernalia consistent with distribution. The gun found in the car and used by the suspects was subsequently determined to be a replica firearm.
Three Juveniles Caught in B&E Attempt
Last night around 10:17PM, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to 560 Harrison Ave. for a breaking and entering in progress.
On arrival, officers observed a security guard in pursuit of three young males who were running towards Union Park. Officers assisted in the pursuit of the suspects and were able to stop and detain the three suspects at the intersection of Harrison Ave. and Union Park. There, officers learned that one of the three suspects had kicked in the door of the valet/parking booth and stolen a cash box and run off with it. The other two suspects had acted as lookouts while the main suspect kicked in the door and stole the cash box. The main suspect had discarded the cash box while being pursued by the security guard but the empty cash box was recovered.
The suspects, all teenagers, were all FIO’ed and the suspect who kicked in the door, a 15 year-old male juvenile from Boston was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime and Malicious Destruction of Property. The other two suspects will be summonsed to court on the same charges as the arrested suspect.
Lottery Theft No Win for Suspect
Yesterday, around 10:00PM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown/North End) arrested suspect, Victor Garcia, 44, of Boston and charged him with Larceny from a Person when they responded to a call for a victim of a larceny that had just observed the suspect who stole the victim’s winning lottery ticket the day before. The suspect was located and identified by the victim as the person who had grabbed her winning ticket from her and fled.
On Saturday, September 6, 2009, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to the intersection of Warren and Park Streets for a larceny report. There, officers spoke to the victim who reported to officers that while she was scratching a $100.00 winning lottery ticket, the suspect, whom she has seen in the area before, approached her and grabbed the winning $100.00 scratch ticket from her and fled. A search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful at that time.
