BPD Arrests Man Responsible for the July 4th Murder of David BrimleyToday, the Boston Police Fugitive Unit and officers assigned to D-4 (south end), arrested Charles Williams, 30 of Boston on a warrant charging him with the July 4th murder of David Brimely. Detectives conducted a thorough investigation leading to the issuance of the Roxbury District Court warrant.
On Saturday, July 4, 2009, at approximately 2:15pm, officers assigned to Area D-4 (South End), responded to 617 Shawmut Avenue for a report of a person shot.
Officers arrived on-scene and located a large group standing over a male lying on the ground. Officers and Boston EMS rendered care to the individual who was apparently suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. It was later learned the victim’s identity to be David Brimley, 24 of Boston.
The victim was transported by Boston EMS to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced.
The suspect, Mr. Williams is expected to be arraigned on the charge of murder in Roxbury District Court on Friday, July 17, 2009.
