DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, MARCH 28, 2009

POLICE ARREST ONE FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARMAt about 7:40pm, on Friday, March 27, 2009, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) were on patrol in the area of the Old & Columbia Roads when they observed an individual known to have a court imposed curfew. Given the probation violation, officers approached and stopped the suspect (known hereafter as suspect #1). At the time of the encounter, suspect #1 was with another individual (known hereafter as suspect #2). While speaking to suspect #1, officers noted and observed that suspect #2 began to get very nervous. Specifically, officers noted that suspect #2 was holding his right side in such a way as if to suggest he was holding or attempting to conceal a weapon, possibly a firearm. When asked if he was in possession of any weapons, suspect #2 quickly looked down at the ground and refused to answer the question.
As a result of the non-response, officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect for weapons. As a result of the frisk, officers were able to locate and seize a firearm. When asked if he was in possession of a license to carry, the suspect stated, “No.”
Officers arrested Laurence Justice, 17, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm on a Public Way.
