On Tuesday, March 24, 2009, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to 33 Washington St./The Jeweler’s Building to investigate a larceny by fraud.On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a jeweler, who reported that he sold jewelry valued in excess of $24,000.00 to a suspect who paid him by check on March 23, 2009. The victim further reported that when he contacted he bank about the checks, he was told that the account was closed. The victim then gave officers a description of the suspect in order to facilitate the identification of the suspect, and other information to assist in the investigation.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, the victim contacted detectives and informed them that the suspect had contacted him again in order to “buy” some additional jewelry. After receiving this information, officers responded to the Jeweler’s Building and placed the suspect, Timothy B. Elliott, 56, of Pocasset under arrest and charged him Larceny Over $250.00 as he entered the victim’s shop.
District A-1 detectives are investigating whether or not this suspect is connected to any other similar incidents.
