DEATH INVESTIGATION AT WARREN STREET IN ROXBURY

Homicide Victim IdentifiedAbout 1:20am, on Sunday November 2, 2008, Officers on-sited a motor vehicle at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Warren Street occupied by three individuals all known to the Commonwealth. The front seat passenger/victim suffered from an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center. Last evening, the victim was pronounced as a result of his injuries. He has been identified as Keldrin Pena, 20, of Jamaica Plain.
Homicide detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Preliminary information suggests that the original shooting incident may have occurred at the corner of Walnut Street and Martin Luther King Blvd.
Homicide investigators are seeking additional information and are asking community members with knowledge of this incident to please come forward. Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.

This marks the 52nd homicide of the year. Last year at this time, there had been 60 homicides.
