Three Guns Recovered Under Man in WheelchairLast night, Friday, October 31, 2008 around 9:00PM, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) assisted by officers from the Boston SWAT team arrested suspects, Edwin Prosper, Jr., 22, of South Boston and charged him with three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and numerous counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. In addition, officers arrested suspects, Jorge O. Gomez, 21, of Dorchester, Ritchie Prosper, 18, of South Boston, Jean D. Valbrun, 17, of Hyde Park, Marques R. Kersey, 18, of Dorchester, and a 15 year-old juvenile from Jamaica Plain and charged them with Armed Assault with Intent to Rob.
The incident originated around 7:07PM when officers received a call for an armed robbery 110 Mercer Street in South Boston.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim and a witness who reported that they were walking up Columbia Road on the 1100 block when three black males approached them. According to the victim and witness, after the suspects asked them a few questions about where they were from, the 15 year-old suspect demanded of the victim, “How much money you got?” The victim reported that he told the suspect that he had no money at which time suspect, Valbrun, grabbed the victim’s sidekick and attempted to flee. A brief struggle ensued after which the suspects fled down Columbia Road, making a left of Pilsudski way.
The victim and witness pursued the suspects and caught up with suspect, Valbrun in front of 20 Pilsudski Way. There, a struggle again took place between the victim and suspect, Valbrun in front of an apartment window. During the struggle, the victim and witness reported that the 15 year-old suspect reappeared brandishing a handgun, and exclaimed to the witness, “You got a problem with me?” As this was transpiring, the witness reported observing a black male with dreadlocks with a two-handled firearm standing at the window. Both witness and victim stated that they fled upon observing the 15 year-old suspect, and the other black male standing in the window with the two-handled firearm.
Officers responded to 20 Pilsudski Way with the victim and witness where they identified the specific window where they had observed the suspect bearing the two-handled firearm. Officers formed a perimeter around the identified apartment and while doing so, observed a male matching the description of one of the suspects in an open window. That individual abruptly closed the window and shade once he observed the suspect.
At that time, officers declared that they had a barricaded suspect. Officers then requested the assistance of numerous units including the SWAT team to respond due to the nature of the call and the circumstances that officers had observed on their arrival.
After all the appropriate personnel responded, officers were able to peacefully gained entry to the apartment, and secured all occupants. Six males and three female individuals, one of whom was a male in a wheelchair, were removed from the apartment and pat frisked for weapons. Later on, the individuals were removed from the apartment and a more thorough frisk was performed on the occupants. During a more thorough frisk of the occupants, officers discovered suspect, Edwin Prosper, who was seated in the wheelchair, sitting on three firearms.
Officers recovered three firearm from underneath suspect, Edwin Prosper, two of which had high capacity magazines, and the other had laser sights attached. The suspects will be arraigned at South Boston District Court on Monday, November 3, 2008.

This morning at approximately 2:21AM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 16 Rockne Ave. in Dorchester for a breaking and entering in progress.
On arrival, officers met the victims who reported to officers that they had the suspect detained. Officers spoke with the suspect who reported to them that he went to the house after he was assaulted by a group of white supremacist. The suspect then went on to tell officers that a tall black male let him in the house. Officers then went to the door, and observed that the front door lock had been damaged and the wood frame splintered.
Officers then spoke to the victims who reported that they were awakened by the sound of the suspect walking around their bedroom.
Officers then placed suspect, Brian C. Chuckran, 28, of Brockton under arrest and charged him with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime.
