DAILY INCIDENTS FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2008

LADDER CLIMBING SUSPECT ARRESTED EXITING A HOUSE IN BRIGHTONAt about 4:30am, on October 28, 2008, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) were on patrol in the area of 195 Faneuil Street when they observed a white male climbing down a ladder. Officers observed that the ladder was leaning against the above location in such a way as to provide access to a second floor porch. When the suspect saw the officers, the suspect fled. After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to apprehend the suspect. When asked to explain his actions, the suspect stated that he broke into the house in order to steal drugs. While still on scene, the victim of the breaking & entering approached officers. According to the victim, he was asleep in his bed when he was awoken by the intruder. When he jumped out of bed, the victim says the suspect began punching him. Officers observed what appeared to be a laceration over the victim’s right eye.
Officers arrested Ian O’Hara, 28, of Brighton and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Residence (Night time) and Assault & Battery.
G-P-S THIEF ARRESTED IN THE SOUTH END
At about 1:30pm, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, officers from Area D-4 (South End) were on patrol in the area of Harrison Avenue and East Concord Street when they observed two individuals looking into cars. While officers were watching the suspects, officers observed one of the suspects throw an object through the window of a parked car. As officers approached the suspect, officers observed the suspect leaning into the car while stuffing items into his jacket. After a brief pursuit, officers were able to apprehend the suspect. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover a GPS unit and a Sony CD player. When asked where the property came from, the suspect stated, “I stole it.”
Officers arrested Jose Torres, 49, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering (motor vehicle) and Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED IN EAST BOSTON
At about 8:50pm, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of 1035 Saratoga Street. According to the police dispatcher, the suspect was a white male with a beard/goatee wearing a red/black jacket and dark jeans. According to the victim, she was about to enter a store with money in her hand when the suspect approached her and stated that he knew her. The victim says the suspect grabbed the money out of her hand, pushed her to the ground and fled the scene. In short time, officers located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of the Orient Heights MBTA station. While officers were questioning the suspect, the victim was brought to the location for the purposes of positively identifying the suspect. Once on scene, upon seeing the suspect, the victim stated, “That’s him.”
Officers arrested Robert Passariello, 21, of East Boston and charged him with Unarmed Robbery.
