DAILY INCIDENTS FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 15, 2008

Two Arrested for Stabbing Incident at BarLast night, Thursday, August 14, 2008, around 11:47PM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to 2805 Washington St./Norvia’s bar for a fight in progress. While en route, officers were informed that the fight had been upgraded to a stabbing.
On arrival, officers found the victim outside the bar suffering from an apparent stab wound to the upper back area. Health and Hospitals EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries for treatment.
Officers then spoke to witnesses and another assault and battery victim and learned that the suspect was assaulted and stabbed by three patrons after he escorted them out of the bar. Per witnesses, the suspects had been involved in a fight inside the bar, and as a result were escorted out by the victim who is a bouncer at the bar. Officers additionally learned that the suspects attacked the victim once outside by knocking him to the ground, kicking him, and eventually stabbing him. During the course of their investigation, officers learned that the suspects also punched a witness who attempted to stop them from fighting with the victim inside the bar.
Officers arrested two of the three suspects who had attacked the victim on scene, and will seek an arrest warrant for the third. Suspect, Salvador Gamboa-Bocardo, 21, of Chicago, IL was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery while the second suspect, Hazim D. Fennell, 33 of Boston was charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of Class D for marijuana found on his person during the booking search.
Two Suspects Arrested for B&E to Car
Last night around 12:50AM, officers from District D-4 (South End) arrested suspects, Ezra Grant, 18 of the South End, and Keron Watson, 21 of Dorchester and charged them with Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle, and Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.
Officers were on patrol in the area of West Brookline Ave. near the Blackstone School when they observed two individuals in the schoolyard. Officers, knowing that there has been a rash of B&Es to cars in the area and specifically to cars in the school yard, decided to stop the two individuals in the yard to conduct a threshold inquiry. Officers drove around and entered the schoolyard to inquire of the two individuals their purpose when the two individuals suddenly fled. As officers pursued the two individuals, they dropped a bag and continued to run. Numerous assisting units responded and eventually both suspects were stopped and apprehended. One of the two suspects repeatedly told officers that he hadn’t taken anything after being stopped.
Officers then returned to the schoolyard, and there found a car that had been broke into with a damaged door handle, one door wide open, and the bag that the suspects had discarded while fleeing. In the bag officers recovered several pieces of paperwork belonging to the owner of the car that had been broken into, along with several toys for small children.
Three Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested
This morning around 1:33AM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested three suspects, Terry Morant, 19, of Mattapan, Thomas J. Burns, 18, of Roxbury, and a 16-year old male juvenile from Roxbury and charged them with Armed Robbery. In addition, suspect Morant was charged with Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute.
Officers initially responded to the intersection of Fenwood Rd. and Huntington Ave. for an armed robbery. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim and immediately broadcast a description of the suspects. As officers searched the area for the suspects, they observed a car pull up to the curb on Fisher Ave. near Bucknam Street with three individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions exiting the car. Officers quickly approached the car and as they did so, they observed the individual that had exited from the driver seat go around the car to the glove compartment and place something in it while the other two occupants quickly walked away from officers.
The individual that had walked around the car was stopped and officers performed a pat frisk of him and his car based on he fact that the suspects had been said to be in possession of a gun. During the pat frisk, officers recovered 25 bags of individually wrapped marijuana, an Apple I-Pod, about $30 in cash, and a hat and sweatshirt matching the description of one that the victim had described that one the suspects were wearing during the robbery. Shortly after informing the units that the one suspect who had been apprehended was going to be brought back for a possible identification by the victim, officers came upon the other two individuals that had walked away from officers at the car.
All three suspects were returned for a possible identification where the victim positively identified all of them. The victim then told officers that he was walking on Huntington Ave. when he was approached by the three suspects who forced him into the doorway of 779 Huntington Avenue. There, the suspects put a gun to his side and demanded that he give them everything that he had. According to the victim, the suspects took his wallet, I-Pod, and about $30 in cash from him.
Officers on Patrol Happen on Stabbing Victim
This morning around 1:44AM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Dudley St. and Lewis Pl. when they observed a person in the middle of the road in need of medical assistance.
Officers immediately responded to the victim, and noticed that he was unsteady on his feet, and holding his stomach area before he collapsed. Officers then noticed that the victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers immediately requested EMS to respond to assist the victim, and he was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was last listed in critical condition.
While officers were attending to the victim, they observed a dark colored PT cruiser fleeing from the area of the incident at a high rate of speed. This vehicle was followed but officers lost sight of the vehicle while following to conduct a threshold inquiry.
B-2 detectives are actively investigating this incident.
