Shooting Incident at 35 Dubois StreetLast night around 11:17PM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of Dubois and Adams Streets for shots fired.
On arrival, officers learned that someone had suffered a gunshot wound and that the victim had been transported to Boston Medical Center. Officers responded to Boston Medical Center where they located the victim, a 26 year-old male, who was suffering from two gunshot wounds. The victim’s wounds were deemed to be non-life threatening by medical personnel.
The Boston Police District B-2 detectives are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. By Bicycle, Sea or Land: Suspect Is Arrested Nevertheless
At approximately 10:03PM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to 599 Commercial St. for a larceny in progress.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported that he and his friends were watching a baseball game when they noticed an apparently intoxicated male acting strangely. According to the victim, the apparently intoxicated male suddenly jumped on the victim’s bicycle, valued in excess o $1,000.00, and fled down Commercial Street. The suspect left behind his backpack behind which had a number of burglarious tools, and personal items.
Later in the night at approximately 10:50AM, officers from District A-1 walking in the North End area at the intersection of Hanover and Prince Streets were approached by a passerby who told them that an individual he recognized as being responsible for numerous bicycle thefts in the area just rode down Hanover Street. The passerby gave officers a description of the suspect along with the bicycle he was riding, and officers immediately determined that he matched the description of the suspect and the bicycle that had been stolen less than an hour ago.
Officers broadcast the description of the suspect, the stolen bicycle, along with his direction of flight, and a short while later were advised that Boston Fire Department personnel had just observed the suspect riding towards Commercial Street. Additional units responded to the area in an attempt to locate the suspect, and observed him riding the stolen bicycle over the North Washington Street Bridge. There, officers attempted to approach the suspect, when the suspect dropped the bicycle, ran to the edge of the bridge and jumped into the Boston Harbor. After the suspect jumped into the water, the suspect swam to the Commercial St. side of the bridge, exited the water and running down the Harbor Walkway. The suspect was caught after a brief foot pursuit, and struggle with officers and placed under arrest.
The suspect, Jason B. Duncan, 29, of Somerville was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Resisting Arrest.
Attempted Robbery Suspect Arrested
At approximately 1:47AM this morning, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to Kendall St. by Ditmus Ct. for a person stabbed.
On arrival, officers found two individuals being detained by security officers, one of whom was the victim who was suffering from a laceration to his right wrist. Officers spoke to the victim who reported that he was riding his bicycle in the Lenox St. area when the suspect approached him and attempted to take his bicycle. The victim reported that when he resisted the suspect’s attempt to take his bike, the suspect pulled out a knife and slashed at him cutting on his right wrist.
The suspect, Bobby Dodson, 41, of Roxbury who had been detained by security officers was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Attempted Robbery.
No Day in the Park for Arrested Warrant Suspect
This morning around 2:20AM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) were on patrol in the area of Playstead Rd. by the beach/park when they observed an individual sleeping on the park bench.
Officers approached the sleeping individual to conduct a threshold inquiry and identified themselves. Officers requested of the sleeping suspect identification and his reason for being there. The suspect told officers that he had missed the last train to Quincy and provided them with an inmate identification card from Suffolk County House of Corrections. A query of the information on the identification card via the Mobile Data Terminal (computer in police cruiser) revealed the suspect to have an outstanding default warrant out of Quincy District Court for Assault and Threats. The suspect, John Flynn, 44, of Quincy was arrested and charged with the above offenses.
