At about 11:34am, on Thursday, July 3, 2008, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a pedestrian struck in the area of Arlington and Newbury Streets. On arrival, officers located a 47 year-old female who had been struck by a motor vehicle. The victim was immediately transported to Mass General Hospital where she was later pronounced. Per department protocol, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notifications. Furthermore, at this point in the investigation, no charges have been filed nor citations issued.
