Stabbing Suspect from 125 Amory ApprehendedAbout 2:25pm yesterday, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to 125 Amory St. in Jamaica Plain for a person stabbed.
On arrival, officers were informed by building personnel that the victim was on the third floor of the building. While en route to the third floor, officers encountered a witness who reported that he heard a commotion while in the elevator and heard someone screaming. The witness further reported that he arrived at the third floor of the building and observed the suspect try to force her way into the elevator while the victim was lying bleeding outside the elevator.
On the third floor, officers observed the victim with blood covering the back of his t-shirt and then encountered the suspect who reported to officers that the victim was her boyfriend and that they had been arguing. After telling officers of her relationship with the victim, the suspect however was unwilling to direct officers to their apartment after telling officers that she and the victim had been arguing when she came out of the bathroom and observed the victim stabbed.
Officers followed a trail of blood to the apartment where they observed blood on the door as well as the door handle. Inside the apartment, officers spoke to a witness who explained to officers that the suspect and victim had been arguing in the apartment when he heard the victim yelling, and turned around to see the victim bleeding from the back and the front door open. Per the witness, the suspect returned a short time later, picked up a knife off of the floor, went to the bathroom, cleaned off the knife of the blood that was on it, and then place it back on the kitchen counter.
The victim, a 33 year-old male from Boston was initially transported to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, but was subsequently upgraded to stable condition. The victim, Claribel Peralta, 21, of Boston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault and Battery under the Domestic Relations Law (Ch. 209A).
A Day in the Park Results in Recovery of Firearm
About 2:21pm yesterday, officers from Youth Violence Strike Force arrested suspect, Brian K. Stokes, 20, of Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.
Officers were initially on patrol in the area of Malcolm X Park located on Martin Luther King Blvd when they observed a group of 7-9 young males engaged in a heated argument. Officers, in an unmarked car, pulled over to monitor this incident. As officers continued to monitor the interaction of this group, another individual rode up to the group and appeared to cause the discussion to become even more heated. Officers radioed in for additional units, believing that the situation would escalate into a fight.
The group noted the officers’ presence while waiting the response of additional units and started to disperse. At this point, the suspect more than other members of the group, hurriedly got on his bike and attempted to flee the area at a high rate of speed. Officers, knowing of the recent spate of violence in the area, decided to try to stop this individual for a threshold inquiry.
Additional responding units pursued the suspect while he attempted to evade them, and finally stopped the suspect on Dale Street. There, based on observations made of the suspect, while he was fleeing, officers conducted a pat frisk and felt an object consistent with a firearm in his waistband. The suspect struggled with officers until he was subdued and a fully loaded firearm was recovered from his waist.
“Operation Squeeze” Nets 7 Johns for Solicitating Sex
Last night, Friday, April 16, 2008, officers from District B-2 (Dorchester and Roxbury) conducted “Operation Squeeze” in the area of Grove Hall and Dudley section of Blue Hill Ave. in response to community complaints, and the resulting deleterious effects of prostitution in the area such as increased crime, drug use and quality of life issues. During this operation, a plain clothes police officer was placed in the areas most frequented by prostitutes and “johns.” While operating in these areas, the officer was approached by the below noted individuals and solicited for various types of sexual acts in exchange for cash. After these individuals solicited the officer for sex, they were placed under arrest and charged with Prostitution-Soliciting Sex for a Fee.

In addition to being arrested, the suspects’ motor vehicle were towed an impounded for 48 hours in accordance with a city ordinance.
