At about 5:43am, on Thursday, May 5, 2011, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident in the area of Boylston and Washington Streets. On arrival, officers observed one car (herein referred to as Car #1) on the sidewalk in front of a CVS Store. Officers further noted that Car #1 had come into contact with the CVS store and, consequently, broke a store front window. According to the operator of Car #1, she was driving along Washington Street when a car struck her rear quarter panel which caused her to lose control and crash into the CVS store. The operator of the Car #1was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers spoke to the operator of the 2nd car who took responsibility for the accident. The operator of Car #2 stated that he failed to stop for a blinking red light and, consequently, struck Car #1. The operator of Car #2 was cited for Failing to Stop for a Red Light. Officers spoke to a CVS employee who stated that he would notify the appropriate company to board up the broken window.
