At about 11:04am, Thursday, April 28, 2011, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for larceny at 69 Charles Street (The Red Wagon retail store) in Beacon Hill. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim, an employee of the store, who stated that an individual entered the store and asked about buying a wagon. The employee says the suspect was then seen exiting a down stair’s office. When confronted, the suspect said he got lost. After the suspect left, the employee checked the office and soon discovered that her wallet had been stolen. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspect over the police radio. In short time, an officer performing a paid detail in the area of Charles & Revere Streets spotted and stopped an individual who looked liked the suspect. The suspect was returned to the scene of the crime. Upon seeing the suspect, the victim stated that’s him. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover an amount of money similar to the amount stolen from the store.
Officers arrested Robert Paquette, 37, of Cambridge and charged him with Larceny (Over $250.00).
