POLICE ARREST ONE BREAKING INTO CARS IN SOUTHIE

About 3:01pm, on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a suspicious male attempting to open car doors in the area of 409 West Broadway in South Boston. On arrival, officers observed a white male who fit the description of the suspect pulling on the door handle of a motor vehicle. When officers approached, the suspect handed them a GPS device and stated, “It’s my mother’s.” When asked if the car belonged to him, the suspect stated, “No.” A search of the suspect enabled officers to take possession of several credit cards not belonging to the suspect. 
Officers arrested Joe McDonough, 25, of Boston and charged him with Receiving Stolen Property and Attempting to Commit a Crime (Breaking into Motor Vehicles).
