BROKEN WINDOW LANDS ONE IN POLICE CUSTODY

At about 12:24pm, on Saturday, March 19, 2011, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for an altercation in the area of 36 Edgewood Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that her boyfriend smashed a window in her apartment in his efforts to gain entry. According to the victim, they had been arguing and, as a result, she locked him out of her apartment. While on scene, officers observed droplets of blood in and around the broken window. A search of the area for the suspect proved unsuccessful. However, officers learned that the suspect may have gone to work. As a result, officers went in search of the suspect at his place of work. On arrival, officers observed an individual who looked like the suspect. Upon closer inspection, officers noted that the individual had cuts and scratches on his both hands and forearms. Officers also noted that the suspect was wearing a blood stained shirt.
When asked about his injuries, the suspect confirmed that he received them breaking a window at his girlfriend’s apartment.

Officers arrested Saulo Ucelo, 23, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
