BOSTON POLICE SEEKING INFORMATION ON RECENT HIT AND RUN INCIDENT

Detectives from the Homicide Unit are appealing to the public seeking information on the driver responsible for a recent hit and run incident in Dorchester. Detectives continue to actively investigate the facts and circumstances of this incident which has left a local woman suffering from life-threatening injuries.
At about 9:00pm, on Friday, March 11, 2011, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for a pedestrian struck in the area of Dorchester Ave and Dix Street. On arrival, officers located the victim, a pedestrian, lying face down in the roadway. The victim, a 42 year-old female, was transported to the Boston Medical Center where she is being treated for life- threatening injuries. According to witnesses, the operator of the motor vehicle struck the pedestrian and then continued to drive without stopping to check on the wellbeing of the victim.
