Multi Agency Effort Lands Armed Robbery Suspect in Jail

Last night around 6:26PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the Hess Gas Station located at 710 Gallivan Blvd. for an armed robbery involving a gun. While en route, officers were provided with a description of two suspects, one a light skinned or white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other a black male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Officers, upon arrival at the scene, were informed that a State Trooper may have a possible suspect wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt   at the intersection of Adams St. and Gallivan Blvd, a short distance from the location of the incident.  Officers at the scene spoke to the victims and viewed surveillance video of the robbery. The surveillance video appeared to show the stopped suspect working in coordination with the main suspect. The stopped suspect walked in the store and created a distraction by purchasing some things which caused the cashier to open the register, and once the register was opened, the main suspect walked up with a gun and took money from the cash register. It should be noted that the whole time that the main suspect had the gun out, the stopped suspect was totally at ease and as a matter of fact reached under the arm of the armed suspect and grabbed some peanuts from the counter.

The victim was taken to where the suspect had been stopped and there positively identified him as the one who came into the gas station and apparently acted in concert with the main suspect to conduct the armed robbery. The suspect, Adilson Lopes, 30 of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. A search for the main suspect proved to be unsuccessful.
