A Message from Toni Wiley, Executive Director of the Sportsmen\’s Tennis Club:
On Saturday, March 5th, the USTA New England will hold its annual Awards Luncheon, during which they will pay tribute to individuals and organizations whose commitment and dedication to others helped grow the game of tennis during 2009.
We nominated Frank Williams for creating the Boston Police Tennis Program, a key component of our Volley Against Violence Initiative, and we\’re thrilled to announce that he was chosen as the Eastern MA Volunteer of the Year!
The Awards Luncheon will be held at the Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott, 75 Felton Street, Marlborough, at 11:30 AM.
Sportsmen\’s Tennis Club was honored as the Club of the Year in 2008. The Luncheon was a wonderful recognition, and we look forward to celebrating this moment with Frank.
We are certain that Frank would love to share this moment with those of you who enjoy the Boston Police Tennis Program. If you would like to join us, please contact the club no later than Thursday, February 24th, as we are required to turn in our headcount and luncheon choices to the USTA by Friday, February 25th.
Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children, and the entree choices are Chicken Saltimbocca, Marinated London Broil, Baked Haddock or a Vegetarian meal.
If you are unable to go but would like to sponsor a Junior to attend, we would be happy to try and coordinate this with the officers who work in this program with Frank.
Please feel free to offer a note of congratulations to Frank, and we hope to see you in Marlborough on March 5th!
