At about 11:52am, on Friday, February 18, 2011, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress in the area of 48 Rutland Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that as she was walking along Rutland Street with her infant child when the suspect (a white female in her 30’s, wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and a black and red scarf) approached the victim, stuck a sharp object (possibly a box cutter) into the victim’s side and demanded money. When the victim refused and fought back, the suspect took off on foot along Shawmut Ave towards W. Concord Street.
Officers broadcast a description of the suspect over the police radio. However, a search of the area proved unsuccessful.
