At about 9:28am, on Saturday, February 5, 2011, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Westminster Ave when officers observed a motor vehicle, with its hazards flashing, stopped in the middle of the road thus rendering the road impassable. Seeing this, officers approached the motor vehicle. While approaching, officers observed a white female, sitting in the passenger seat, slide over into the unoccupied driver\’s side seat, put the car into drive and pull the car to the side of the road.
A check of the registration through the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) showed the car to be stolen. When asked to produce a license, the female stated that she didn’t have it on her. A check of her driving status through the RMV showed her license to be revoked. Officers observed a 2nd individual, a male passenger, sitting in the backseat of the car. When informed that the car had been reported stolen, both occupants denied being aware of such information.
Officers arrested Tom James, 33, of Boston and Jessica Fennelly, 28, of Hull and charged both with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle.
