This morning around 12:30AM, officers arrested suspect, Paul E. Liburdi, 39 of Boston and charged him with Attempted Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Trespassing. Another suspect, Louis E. Bootier, 48 of Boston was also arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle in the Night and Trespassing.

Officers initially responded to 7 Ellery St. for a crime in progress. There, officers spoke to a witness who stated that two males, one of whom he provided a description for, were together breaking into cars. Officers after speaking to the witness and broadcasting the description of the one suspects, came upon someone matching the suspect description on Dexter Street. That individual was detained and brought back to the scene where he was positively identified. The witness then directed officers to one of the cars that the suspects had been seen entering and there officers observed the second suspect inside the car who was then placed under arrest.

The witness then told officers that he initially observed the two suspects enter the fenced-in lot that he was plowing and notice them start trying to open different car doors. Per the witness, the suspects split up when they noticed him with suspect Bootier getting in the car and the other fleeing down Dexter Street.

Search incident to arrest revealed suspect Liburdi to be in possession of several burglarious tools in his backpack which resulted in additional charges.
