Snow Rage Lands One in Jail

Yesterday evening around 6:40PM, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to 175 Commonwealth Ave. for a person with a knife.

En route, officers were advised that the suspect had gone inside his residence and a description was provided to officers. On arrival, officers were directed to the rear of the building where they spoke to the victim who had been doing snow removal and the suspect who was now inside his car. Officers learned that the suspect had been shoveling snow from the rear of 173 while the victim was performing snow removal from 175 Commonwealth Avenue. During the snow removal by both parties, officers learned that the suspect threw snow from his side to that of the victim which resulted in the victim reacting after the suspect engaged in this action several times. The victim reacted by telling the suspect to stop and he responded by exclaiming to the victims, “What are you going to do about it?!” The parties argued back and forth for some time after which the victims went back to shoveling snow and the suspect went inside of 173 Commonwealth Avenue.  A short time after entering 173 Commonwealth Ave., the suspect came back brandishing two knives and confronted the victims. The suspect, while brandishing the knives, stated to the victims, “It’s four on 0ne, you guys throw the first punch and someone’s going to get stabbed. At this time, one of the victims called 911 which then caused the suspect to retreat back into the house.

The suspect, William Plaza, 38 of Hyde Park was arrested and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
