Robbery Suspect Arrested after Initially Eluding Arrest

Around 1:45PM yesterday afternoon, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) arrested suspect, Frank Luckiewicz, 54 of South Boston and charged him with Unarmed Robbery stemming from an incident that took place on January 13, 2011.

Around 1:45PM officers responded to 423 West Broadway for a report of an individual wanted for an Unarmed Robbery. On arrival, officers poke to the caller who reported that she had just seen the suspect who assaulted her and robbed her of her wallet on 1/13/11. After speaking to the victim, officers learned that the suspect was no longer on scene but based on conversation and descriptions provided by the victim, officers were able to identify the suspect based on past encounters. A nearby detail officer identified the suspect and provided his address to other officers.

Officers responded to the suspect’s house and spoke to him and asked him to come back to the victim’s location. On returning with the suspect, the victim positively identified him as the person who had assaulted her, and stole her wallet. The victim had to be hospitalized for several days after the assault.
