Early this morning around 1:24AM, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded 327 Newbury St. for a dispute between a cab driver and a customer.
On arrival, officers observed the two parties in a heated discussion about the whereabouts of the keys to the cab with the cab driver outside the cab and the female passenger in the front passenger seat. The cab driver spoke to officers and reported that the woman seated in the front passenger seat got in the cab, removed the keys from the ignition and placed them down the front of her shirt. Offices asked the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated by virtue of her slurring speech, bloodshot eyes, and odor of alcohol, several times about the keys and she adamantly denied having the keys. The suspect became increasingly loud and attempted to walk away from the scene stating that she was going home.
A female officer responded to the scene and conducted a pat frisk of the suspect and recovered the keys to the cab from inside the suspect’s shirt. The suspect, Meaghan O’Donnell, 25 of Salem was arrested and charged with Larceny Under $50, Disorderly Person and an outstanding warrant out Salem District Court.
