At about 7:00am, on Monday, January 3, 2011, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a disturbance between two females in front of 4 O’Callaghan Way. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she was sitting in her parked car with her son waiting for her son’s school bus to arrive when a woman in a 2nd floor apartment began throwing things out of her window. According to the victim, the suspect threw a framed picture that struck and scratched the victim’s car. Officers were able to observe damage to the victim’s car. Victim further stated that when she yelled up at the suspect to cease and desist with the throwing of objects, the suspect ran outside, picked up the framed picture and threw it at the victim’s car a second time. Victim states when the picture stuck her car a second time, chards of glass entered and damaged her car.

When police arrived the suspect had retreated to her apartment. However, upon seeing police outside, the suspect ran downstairs and began yelling screaming at the officers.

Officers arrested Marie Monteiro, 40, of South Boston and charged her with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
