POLICE ARREST ONE BREAKING INTO STORE ON BOYLSTON STREET

At about 3:00pm, on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to an alarm call in the rear of 711 Boylston Street (The Tannery).  On arrival, officers spoke to a witness who stated that the rear door of the location was open and the person responsible for opening the door was possibly still inside. Officers approached the door and observed several articles or pieces of clothing lying in the rear alley. Once inside, officers observed and located an individual holding a pile of clothes and boots. Officers immediately instructed the suspect to exit the store. Upon hearing the officer’s commands, the suspect dropped the clothes and boots.

When store employees arrived on the scene, they were able to confirm that the property taken by the suspect belonged to their store.

According to the suspect, he entered the store through an open or unlocked door. Suspect further stated that he was cold and was looking for a place to get warm.

Officers arrested Brayan Correa, 17, of Boston  and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Building
