About 12:23AM on December 26, 2010, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to 1528 Tremont St. /Lily’s Gourmet Pasta for a commercial alarm.
On arrival, officers observed that the store had been broken into and the front window had been smashed open and the side door left open. Officers entered the store and there discovered that the two cash drawers taken and a cash box. Officers canvassed the area and while doing so located an individual who was stopped and a threshold inquiry conducted. After the inquiry, the individual was released and officers continued to canvass the area.
After clearing the scene, officers were able to view video surveillance and the video showed a man matching the description of the individual that been stopped and released. The video showed a man entering the through the broken window and making off with the store’s two cash drawers and a change box.
The following day, December 27, 2010 around 3:37AM, officers from District B-2 were on patrol in the Dudley MBTA terminal area when they observed an individual matching the suspect description from the breaking and entering from the day before. Officers initiated a threshold inquiry with the suspect which resulted in an arrest for Possession of Class B, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B within 1,000 of a School Zone.
The suspect was arrested and transported to District B-2 for booking. There, officers located a plastic bag with over $1,000.00 on the suspect’s person. Detectives interviewed the suspect, Mark Mack, 31, of Roxbury who then confessed to the breaking and entering from the day before and several other breaking and enterings in the Boston area.
