At about 7:32pm, on Thursday, December 23, 2010, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a robbery at 786 Boylston Street (Saks Fifth Avenue). While en route to the call, officers learned that a store employee (a loss prevention officer) possibly had one of the suspects detained in the back of 10 Huntington Ave. On arrival, officers observed a loss prevention officer struggling with one of the suspects. Officers were able to assist the loss prevention officer in taking the suspect into custody. In speaking to store employees, officers learned that two suspects entered the store, grabbed a total of 15 Louis Vatton bags and fled the store.
A search of the area enabled officers to locate the second suspect in the area of St. Botolph and Harcourt Streets.
Officers arrested Robert Davidson, 46, of Boston and Kenneth James, 43, of Boston and charged both with Larceny (Over $250.00).
Officers were able to locate and recover all fifteen of the Louis Vatton bags. Detectives are presently looking into the possibility that the suspects arrested in this incident may have a connection with other larcenies in the Back Bay area.
