Undercover Initiative Nabs Thieves Red-Handed
WHAT: This holiday season the Boston Police Department embarked on an innovative way to identify ‘Grinches’ citywide who sought to steal Christmas and profit from stolen merchandise. A strategic undercover operation was launched in an effort to reduce property-related crime throughout the city by making it more difficult to unload stolen property in the open market, to assist police in recovering stolen property on behalf of victims and to arrest habitual offenders.
Today officials will reveal the strategy and provide details on this effort.
