POLICE ARREST SUSPECTS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH TWO ARMED ROBBERIES ON THE SAME DAY

At about 9:21pm, on Sunday, December 19, 2010, officers from Area E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 4175 Washington Street (Dunkin Donuts). On arrival, officers spoke to store employees who stated that a white male entered the store, walked behind the counter, showed a knife and demanded money. After taking money from the cash register, the suspect fled the store. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspect over the police radio.

About forty minutes later, at approximately 10:06pm, officers from Area E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a second armed robbery at 165 Belgrade Ave (Home Market). On arrival, officers spoke to store employees who stated that two individuals (one male, one female) entered the store and robbed them as they were closing for the night. The store employees stated that the male suspect, who looked to be in his late teens, entered the store wearing a black knit cap and black jacket. Once inside the store, the suspect walked behind the counter, showed a knife and demanded money. After taking money from the cash register, the suspect fled the store. According to the employees, the suspects jumped into a black motor vehicle and fled the area. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects, as well as their motor vehicle, over the police radio.

A short time later, officers received a call about two suspicious-looking people inside the CVS at 4600 Washington Street. On arrival, officers located and detained the suspects. While the suspects were being questioned, witnesses from the earlier robbery were brought to the scene. Upon seeing the suspects, the witnesses were able to positively identify them.

Officers arrested Taylor Harrington, 25, of Boston and Briannah Newsom, 22, of Quincy and charged both with Armed Robbery.
