Birds of a Feather Flock Together and Get Arrested Together

Around 4:45PM yesterday, an officer from District B-2 (Roxbury) on patrol observed a motor vehicle fail to stop for a red light at the intersection of Geneva Ave. and Columbia Road.

A traffic stop was conducted during which the operator handed the officer a passport when he was asked for license. A check of the operator’s license status revealed that he not only had no license but that he had active warrants for Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Marked Lanes Violation and Highway Traffic Violation.  The decision having made to place the suspect for Driving without Being Licensed and the active warrants, the suspect was allowed to call someone to come pick up his car so that the car would not have to be towed.

The suspect contacted a friend who then came to pick up his car. The suspect’s friend’s information was queried before he was allowed to drive the car away. Query of his name revealed to officers that he too had an outstanding warrant for Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension.

The initial driver, Hantz Jean-Pierre, 25 of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and his friend, Tashawn Moody-Whitley, 20 of Dorchester was arrested and charged with the outstanding warrant for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
