At about 6:10am, on Sunday December 5, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to call for a break and entry in progress at 32 Chester Street. On arrival, officers approached the address and observed what looked to be recently done damage to the front door. Upon entering the location, officers located and observed an individual trying to push in a door with his shoulders. When asked what he was doing, the suspect stated, “I kicked in a lot of doors tonight. I have to let the dogs out.” Witnesses state that they called police upon hearing loud noises. When asked if the suspect lived at the address, witnesses stated that he did not.
Officers arrested Jon Schaeffer, 21, of Las Vegas, NV and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Residence (Night time) and Willful & Malicious Destruction Property.
