Stolen Cell Phones Suspects Arrested

Yesterday afternoon around 1:55PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 960 Morrissey Blvd. /The T Mobile Store for a larceny in progress.

En route, officers were advised that three young black males had just stolen some phones from the store and had fled on Morrissey Blvd. toward the Boston Bowl. Officers, having been advised of this fact, made their way toward the Boston Bowl and while on Tenean St. observed an individual matching one of the suspect’s descriptions. Shortly after observing the first suspect, officers observed two other males matching the suspects’ descriptions.  The suspects upon observing officers immediately started walking away. All three suspects took off running upon seeing officers get out of their cruiser. Officers pursued the suspects through several back yards, over fences and across several streets and finally back on Tenean Street  officers were able to apprehend two of the suspects while a third fled despite the fact that officers had his identification in hand. The suspect was followed and again caught and detained under the 93 Express way overpass. The third suspect, once caught after officers explained the nature of the call for larceny of phones from the T-Mobile Store, exclaimed to officers, “You got me!”  After getting the third suspect, officers stopped a fourth individual who had been running with the suspects.

After the suspects were all caught, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana from one of their bags and were able to recover from within that bag a tin can containing 16 individually packaged bags of marijuana. Inside the bag of another suspect, officers recovered three of the stolen cell phones in a secret compartment in another suspect’s bag.

All three suspects were detained and returned to the store for a possible identification.  At the store, a store employee was able to positively identify three of the four detained suspects as the ones who came in the store and stole the cell phones after feigning like they were interested in buying a phone battery. It was further relayed to officers that the suspects had destroyed a display case and the door to the store during the theft of the phones and the door to the store while running from the store. The store checked the phones and confirmed that the phones were indeed the ones stolen from the store.

The three suspects involved in the theft of the cell phones, Keyshawn Green, 18, of Dorchester, Rondrick Curry,17 of Mattapan and Nathaniel Payne, 18 of Dorchester  were all arrested and charged with Larceny Over $250.00, Destruction of Property, and Trespassing.  The fourth suspect, Taylor Nelson, 18 oh Hyde Park  who was caught with the suspect  was also arrested and charged with receiving Stolen Property for having the stolen cell phones, Trespassing, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D in a School Zone.
