Attempted Unarmed Robbery Suspects Arrested

Around 3:45AM today, officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) assisted by Boston College officers arrested suspects, Nicholas Tejeda, 18 of Brookline and Damien Silvia, 19 of Boston and charged them with Attempted Unarmed Robbery.

The victim reported to officers that he was outside his place of residence at 2051 Commonwealth Ave. listening to his MP-3 player when he was approached from behind by the two suspects. One of the suspects asked the victim was his headphones were connected to while the other one stated, “Give it up or you’ll get a beating!”  One of the suspects then grabbed the victim by the neck and again told him that they would beat him if he did not comply with their demands.

The suspect was able to break free from the suspects and began running down Commonwealth Ave. while the suspects pursued him. The suspects continued to chase the victim until he came up to a person who was walking down Commonwealth Ave. at which point they started walking behind him. At about the same time that the victim came up to the passerby, he observed a Boston College police officer who he flagged down. The suspects fled the scene upon observing the victim flagging down the B.C. officer.  The B.C. officer and the victim then flagged down a Boston Police officer who then drove around with the victim in an effort to locate the suspects.

The suspects were located and stopped a short time later at the intersection of Commonwealth Ave. and South St. where the victim positively identified them.
