Yesterday, 11/08/10, afternoon around 12:54PM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to the 105 Chauncy St. for a robbery in progress.
On arrival, officers met with the victim who reported that she was standing in the rear of 105 Chauncy St. which is actually located on Harrison Ave. Extension when she was approached by the suspect, described as a black male, about 6’1”, medium build, wearing a navy blue and red striped hooded sweatshirt. According to the victim, the suspect walked up to her and asked her a couple of questions which she could not answer and as a result referred him to security inside the building. The suspect then walked into the building and came back a short while later and again approached the victim as if to ask her another question but instead grabbed her I-Pod out of her hand and fled down Harrison Ave Extension.
The victim followed the suspect and observed jump into the driver’s seat of a car parked near the intersection of Harrison Ave. Extension and Essex Street. The victim was able to provide officers a description of the car along with a registration despite the fact that the suspect fled the scene. Officers broadcast a description of the car along with the registration to other units in the district and nearby districts.
A short time after the description of the car and its registration was broadcast, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) stopped the suspect’s car on Putnam Street. The operator matching the suspect description was placed under arrest and transported to District 2 for booking. There, post Miranda, the suspect admitted to stealing the victim’s I-Pod. The suspect, Derric L. Fisher, 21, of Roxbury was arrested and charged Unarmed Robbery.
