At about 2:11am, on Saturday, November 6, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol travelling along State Street when an individual stepped out in front of the officer’s motor vehicle. Upon seeing the suspect step out into the street, officers were forced to quickly apply their brakes so as to avoid possibly striking the suspect. Officers then beeped their horn for the suspect to move. But, instead of moving, the suspect looked at the officers and refused to budge. From what the officers could deduce, the suspect was well aware of their presence and intentionally refused to move and knowingly obstructed their way. When officers sounded their horn a second time, the suspect began dancing in front of their vehicle. At this point, officers noted that a small crowd had gathered to watch and fully take in the suspect and his inability to locate a proper dance floor.
With traffic now backed up and the suspect still refusing to move, officers exited their department vehicle and arrested the suspect.
Officers arrested Patrick Lamb, 26, of Boston and charged him with Disorderly Conduct.
