At about 1:50am, on Monday, November 1, 2010, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a man possibly breaking car windshields in the area of Fordham Road and Commonwealth Avenue. According to the caller, the suspect was described as a white male with a bushy beard. In short time, officers observed and located an individual who looked like the suspect drinking form an open container of alcohol. When officers attempted to approach the suspect, the suspect took off on foot. After a brief foot chase, officers were able to apprehend the suspect. Officers were unable to locate any broken windshields, but the suspect was arrested due to his decision to drink in public.
Officers arrested Ed Ringwood, 20, of Brighton and charged him with Drinking in Public and the Unlawful Possession of Alcohol.
