At about 1:06am, on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering on a boat in the area of 87 Commercial Wharf. According to the caller, she and her boyfriend were sleeping on their boat when the suspect attempted to break in. The caller further stated, upon hearing someone trying to break in, her boyfriend got up, opened their bedroom door and observed the suspect standing in the hallway outside their bedroom. According to the victim, the suspect was holding several items in his hands. At this point, the victim says the suspect took off and her boyfriend began chasing the suspect on foot. In short time, officers located the suspect still being chased by the victim who was barefoot, wearing boxers and a t-shirt.
Officers arrested Eric Pafaltzgraff, 35, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Boat (Nighttime).
Officers observed damage to the several entry points on the boat.
