Around 11:00PM last night, officers arrested suspect, Kenneth M. Babij, 20 of Quincy and charged him with Unarmed Robbery.
At approximately 10:52PM, officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to the area of Harvard Ave, towards the TJ Maxx in response to a call to 911 for a victim of a robbery following the suspect(s). On arrival, officers located two individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions.
Officers then spoke to the victim who stated to officers that he was in the bathroom at the McDonald’s at the intersection of Commonwealth and Harvard Avenues and accidentally dropped his credit card on the floor. According to the victim, one of the two males who had been stopped by officers approached him and grabbed his wallet from him and exclaimed, “You’re being robbed!” The suspect then took a one hundred dollar ($100) bill from the victim’s wallet. The victim reported to officers that the second male who was with the suspect did not actively participate in the robbery but rather just stood there when he was being robbed.
The suspect was arrested and transported to District D-14 and charged with the above offense. The suspect was additionally cited with Possession of Class D for marijuana found on his person after he was placed under arrest.
