POLICE ARREST ONE DOING DAMAGE IN BRIGHTON

About 11:03am, on Thursday, October 14, 2010, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a report of a man walking around with a crowbar in the rear alley of Kelly’s Roast Beef in the area of Commonwealth and Harvard Avenues. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect with crow bar in hand, prying apart the rear entrance stairs and a platform attached to the Toro Japanese Sushi restaurant. Suspect stated that he was breaking the platform apart because the owner told him to do so. Officers observed a half empty bottle of Jim Bean whiskey on the ground. When asked abouth the bottle, suspect stated the whiskey was his and he had been drinking. Upon speaking to the employees of the establishment, none stated that the suspect had permission to do what he had done.

Officers arrested Thomas Wright, 45, OF BOSTON and charged him with the Malicious Destruction of Property and Drinking In Public.
