Boston Police Officer Thomas Griffiths is scheduled to speak tomorrow at the groundbreaking for the National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington DC. Officer Griffiths and his family will be in attendance to honor the memory of his brother, Boston Police Detective Sherman Griffiths, who died in the line of duty while serving a narcotics warrant during a 1988 drug raid. The Boston Police Department is pleased to have Officer Griffiths participate in this historic event and look forward to the completion of this meaningful project.

WHAT: The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund will formally mark groundbreaking for the National Law Enforcement Museum with a public ceremony. Celebrating an important new chapter in the history of law enforcement, the groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the future site of the mostly underground museum.

Projected to open in 2013, the National Law Enforcement Museum will be anarchitecturally inspiring, 55,000 square foot museum located adjacent to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC’s JudiciarySquare. The Museum will tell the story of American law enforcement through high-tech, interactive exhibits, collections, research and education.
