CALL FOR LATE NIGHT DRAG RACE LANDS ONE IN POLICE CUSTODY

At about 3:50am, on Sunday, October 3, 2010, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a call for a group drag racing or revving their engines loudly in the area of 1025 Truman Parkway. On arrival, officers observed several motor vehicles parked with engines running in the Stop and Shop parking lot.  As officers approached, all the vehicles exited the parking lot, in some cases, at high rate of speed. Officers noted one car in particular travelling at a high rate of speed. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in an effort to stop the car. After a brief pursuit, officers were able to stop the motor vehicle. 

Officers arrested Bao Tran, 19, of Everett and charged him with Failing to Stop for Police Officer.
