At about 12:41am, on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, officers from Area D-4 (South End) were on patrol when they observed an individual running from a 7-Eleven convenience store in the area of Boylston and Dartmouth Streets. Upon seeing the individual fleeing the scene, officers stopped the individual in order to further investigate the incident. According to employees at the 7-Eleven, the suspect entered the store with what appeared to be a half drunk gallon of milk. According to store employees, the suspect stated that the milk was bad and he wanted his money back. Upon looking at the milk, employees realized that the product had not been purchased at their store. When employees told the suspect that they didn’t carry or sell the product he was looking to return, the suspect became enraged and began kicking the front glass door until it shattered. Officers observed shattered glass on the ground around the door. Officers also confirmed that 7-Eleven did not carry or sell the brand of milk the suspect was looking to confirm.
Officers arrested Jon Gifford, 29, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
