Under the leadership of Mayor Thomas Menino, the Boston Police Department recently launched its latest community policing initiative, Operation Hoodsie Cup, (www.operationhoodsiecup.org).
Operation Hoodsie Cup is a Hood Ice Cream Truck utilized by Boston Police officers to hand-deliver Hoodsie Cups to children in pre-determined areas of the city. This one-on-one contact and trust-building approach will create new channels for communication between the youth and police in each of Boston’s neighborhoods.
The current schedule for the week of September 1, 2010 is as follows:
- Wednesday September 1, 2010 (Re-scheduled from last week due to weather)
District E13 & E18 from 4:00pm-8:00pm : Bromley Heath Housing, Mozart Park, Egleston YMCA, South Street Housing, Ross Field, Garfield Housing, Iacono Playground, Kelly Field and Dale St Park
