At about 12:50am, on Saturday, August 28, 2010, officers were on bike patrol in the area of the Boston Common when they observed a white male lying on the ground. As officers got closer, they observed two individuals standing over the man on the ground. When the man on the ground saw the officers approaching, the victim stated, \”They just robbed me.” According to the victim, he was sitting on a park bench when the suspects approached, told him they were police officers and demanded his iPod and money because, according to the suspects, those items had been reported stolen.
A search of the suspects enabled officers to recover and take possession of the victim’s iPod.
Officers arrested Michael Mohamed, 20, of Boston and Jerome Tibbs, 38, of Boston and charged both with Unarmed Robbery and Impersonating Police Officers.
