At about 2:13am, on Saturday, August 28, 2010, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol when officers heard what sounded like shots fired in the area of 484 Blue Hill Avenue. Officers promptly made their way to the source of the shots and soon observed two suspects fleeing the scene. Officers, on foot, caught up to and captured the suspects seen fleeing the area. While taking the suspects into custody, officers observed and took possession of a firearm which was located lying on the sidewalk within feet of the suspects. While searching for ballistic evidence, officers located a house that had been struck by a round. When asked who owned the firearm, neither suspect claimed ownership of the firearm.
Officers arrested Beaubrun Mathurn, 24, of Dorchester and Darnel Marve, 18, of Hyde Park and charged both with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
