On July 20, 2010, Police Officers Ross and Levichev were assigned as the anti-crime unit, working the Brighton & Allston neighborhoods in District D14. It was brought to their attention by the Boston Secret Service Office that Special Agents from their New York Office were actively searching for a fugitive from justice on outstanding warrants.
Officers Ross and Levichev working with the information provided by the Secret Service, conducted their investigation and a local search of the areas known to be frequented by the suspect and his associates in the past. Officers Ross and Levichev interviewed an individual, who was known to be an associate and relative of the New York fugitive, who divulged the fugitives\’ cellphone number, living quarters and aliases being used in New York. The associate was subsequently placed under arrest by Officers Ross and Levichev on outstanding felony warrants out of Brighton, Peabody and Quincy District courts.
As a result of their interviewing skills and their knowledge of the Brighton and Allston areas, the suspect was apprehended on July 20, 2010. For their professionalism and tenacity in aiding the Secret Service in the capture of a known felon, Officers Ross and Levichev were presented with a Commissioner’s Commendation on August 19, 2010.
