At about 1:05pm, on Saturday, August 21, 2010, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of 61 Hano Street. On arrival, officers located and observed a 28 year-old female suffering from a stab wound to the leg. The victim, suffering from a non-life threatening injury, was transported to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital for treatment. Witnesses were able to assist officers in locating the suspect. According to witnesses, the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the leg.
Officers arrested Maria Martins, 44, of Brighton and charged her with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (knife).
