At about 9:42am, on Thursday, August 19. 2010, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Parker Street and Delle Ave when they observed an individual carry a duffle bag. Officers, aware of recent breaks in the area, proceeded to watch and monitor the suspect. While monitoring the suspect, officers watched the suspect walking slowing and looking into cars. Officers then watched the suspect walk up to a house and take a seat on the porch. Officers noted the suspect as he looked nervously from side to side. After a short time, officers observed the suspect approach the front door, grab the front door handle and attempt to gain entry. When the suspect was unable to gain entry, officers watched the suspect walk off the porch and walk up the street. While following behind the suspect, officers then observed the suspect attempt to break into a car parked in the area of 144 Calumet Street. At this point, officers approached the suspect and took him into custody. A search of the suspect enabled officers to see and seize two screw drivers.
When asked why he attempted to break into a home, the suspect stated that the home belonged to his friend, George. Officers returned to the location in an effort to locate a ‘George’ but were unsuccessful in their effort.
Officers arrested Laquan Holland, 24, of Boston and charged him with Attempted Breaking & Entering (Daytime), Attempted Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
