DETAIL OFFICER ARRESTS ONE BREAKING INTO A CAR NEAR POLICE HEADQUARTERS

At about 12:15pm, on Thursday, August 19, 2010, an officer performing a paid detail in the area of Columbus Avenue, near Boston Police Headquarters, observed an individual breaking into a car in the parking lot of Madison Park High School. Specifically, the officer observed the suspect leaning inside the car and rummaging through the vehicle’s contents. When officers approached and asked the suspect if he owned the car, the suspect stated that it belonged to his girlfriend. While officers were still on the scene, the owner of the car approached and stated that he did not know the suspect.

 Officers arrested Tom Stafford, 32, of Rhode Island and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle.
